Alumni Thoughts: Prepared for Life after EIE
By EIE Intern Jocelyn Gordon, Fall 2005
Notes from the Principal
Some say it’s a nes, a miracle, others say it’s the result of dedication, putting our hearts and souls into the hard work. The nes I am writing about is NFTY-EIE.
Students Experience European Jewery
Recently the students returned from their trip to Poland, witnessing first hand the greatness of the Kehillot Kodesh (Holy Communities) of the Middle Ages in Poland, which were a testimony to our strength and commitment and the loss of these great Jewish communities and in the Shoah.
Words from Chair Rabbi Jack Romberg
A few years ago, Audrey and I became re-involved with the EIE program, but this time as concerned adults. At first we were disappointed to learn about the changes in the program from Audrey's experience. We did not think the students could gain the same connection to Israel. But in 2005 we spent a week with the EIE students at Kibbutz Tzuba. We traveled with them on their instructional tiyullim, sat in on classes, and I even taught them a Talmud shiur. We witnessed first hand the dedication of Baruch and the EIE staff.
